COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) will conduct the COMEDK UGET 2021 exam, and the same will be held tentatively by the 2nd week of May 2021. By appearing in this state-level examination, interested candidates can get admitted into UG Engineering Programmes. Candidates who pass the exam and secure the cut-off marks will be eligible for admission into engineering colleges situated in Karnataka. Currently, COMEDK is serving 16 medical, 24 dental, and around 190 engineering Colleges. Now, let’s look into the details:
Candidates Should Consider the Following Points While Filling out the Application Form:
The expected date for the application process to start will be by the 3rd week of January 2021, and the interested candidates will have an open window to apply for the same till the 3rd week of April 2021.
The complete COMEDK 2021 application from process will be done online, and the link for the application will be provided on the official website (https://www.comedk.org/).
The interested candidates must apply by filling out the online application form and uploading all the required documents. Candidates will also have to choose their preferred examination center and pay the required fee to complete the application process.
The application must be filled in correctly and should be done within the allotted time frame. Candidates must be cautious while filling up the application, as corrections are not allowed once the application form is submitted online.
Documents to be uploaded include a photograph of the candidate, the candidate’s signature, the signature of a parent or guardian, and a unique ID proof.
Application fees will be rupees 1,600 + GST + convenience charges, and the payment modes will include debit or credit cards and net banking.
Criteria for Eligibility:
– UG Engineering Course:
The interested candidates must have passed 12th standard or 2nd PUC from a recognized state or central board or university with mandatory subjects, including chemistry, physics, mathematics, and English. The General-category candidates must score 45% marks in their 12th standard board exam to become eligible for the COMEDK UGET exam. OBC or ST or SC candidates belonging to Karnataka must score 40% marks.
– UG Architecture Course:
The interested candidates must have passed 12th standard or 2nd PUC or 10 + 3 Diploma from a recognized state or central board or university with a mandatory subject as mathematics and other subjects. The General-category candidates must score 50% marks in their 12th standard board exam to become eligible for the COMEDK UGET exam. OBC or ST or SC candidates belonging to Karnataka must score 40% marks. Also, interested candidates must qualify NATA 2021 and secure the needed cut off.
Syllabus:
Important topics as per the required subjects are as follows:
– Physics:
Heat & thermodynamics, oscillation, electrostatics, thermal and chemical effects of current, motion, current & electricity, alternating current, physical world & measurement.
– Chemistry:
Environment chemistry, chemical reactions & kinetics, nuclear chemistry, chemistry in action, polymers, coordination chemistry & organometallics, biomolecules, chemistry of biological process/carbon compounds.
– Mathematics:
3-D geometry, vectors, circles, differential calculus, matrices & determinants, probability, differential equations, calculus & logarithms.
